Actually, I run that risk with any contest that goes on for longer than two weeks.
So, yeah. I think 4 weeks should be the maximum.
In a month, you have enough time to do a little entry, even if you're very busy. And if you want to enter with a big entry, then you also can because their's enough time
The 3months about the Valentine's Day contest are a bit too long
Usually when I hold contests, it's not much longer than a month. But, it depends on how well it gets promoted, because sometimes you don't get that many entries in the first week or so, so I think that's a factor.
