Back on 12th October 2008 i started up a small news series known as So i herd u liek emotes?? with the hope of spreading news and features within the emote community. Over the past 2 years the series has followed the community through it’s highs and lows and this week reaches its 100th volume.

To mark the occasion i have prepared a string of news articles which together create ‘week 100’. Everyday i will featuring 100 emotes from our community, building up to the 100th volume of So i herd u liek emotes?? this Saturday.

I’d like to take the chance to say a massive thank you to all the emoticonists that have supported the articles over the years. I may have put the legwork in to create each article, but the series wouldn’t exist without you the community. So sit back, relax and help celebrate 100 issues of So i herd u liek emotes??

This Article

After launching a poll asking how i should celebrate the 100th issue, many people came back suggesting i did a 100 theme challenge feature. After giving it a little consideration, i accepted the task. However, as i wished to feature multiple emotes for every theme (its hard to pick just one) i have split the challenge into 3 separate sections.

I hunted out a copy of the 100 theme challenge through a handy group 100ThemesChallenge and set to work. Unfortunately it wasn’t long before i began to struggle on a couple of phrases due to the fact i was restricted to other people’s creativity and a malfunctioning search tool. My brain eventually swung into action and i gave myself an allowance of 15 topics which i was allowed to veto and later replace with themes from 2 other variations of the list. If anyone feels this is cheating, you try hunting out 300 different emotes xD

This article is section 1 of my hundred theme challenge. As each article is to have only 100 deviations to fit the theme of the week, one emote from theme 100 will also be placed into each article. Keep your eyes peeled for the other 2 parts posted this week.
