Excellent point and analogy!

Now that I think about it, most of the time I spent away from the cafeteria. :P

That is exactly my thoughts! And exactly how I both went about joinng the dA community in general and the emote one, I didn't expect anyone to just know me as an emoticonist for no reason, I made an OC, and tried out a few projects and a new avatar to show for it, and actually made great friends with talented emoticonists. There was NEVER a point where I ever felt intimidated by the emoticonist community, it's always seemed to me to be the kindest and friendliest of all the communities within dA that I've come across. It boggles my mind that people are upset about this in the first place, it's exactly as you've said that you can't be talented/popular/awesome/or anything for that matter without actually...doing something to make it happen first :lmao: It's very very logical to me  I'm really glad to have you as a strong member of the emote and dA community and thanks for this journal, it really voices what I think : )

Mmm, I suppose so, it could be that I did my best to integrate my way into the community a little in general first before getting into a specific area like emotes, but I felt daunted and alone when I started out and I knew the only way to change it was to give people a reason to want to come and check out my little spot on dA :giggle:
