It's been about 3 weeks since my last proper update so i thought i'd sit down and write one out while i had some free time. The lack of updates is down to a couple of reasons - nothing exciting happening in my life and a lack of time spent on dA. But more about those later.



Any of those that have kept up to date with my journals, polls and deviations may know i've spent my summer reading the Harry Potter series. I first started reading the series when only books 1-3 had been released and kept up to date with the new releases up until book 5. However at this point i struggled with the shift in story and fell behind in my reading of the last 2 books. Over the years i've had a couple of half-hearted attempts of finishing the series, but these all failed due to lack of time and commitment.

However, this summer i decided i finally wanted to read the series to the end with an aim to complete the books before seeing the last film. Although at first i stayed on track devouring the first 3 books in about 7 days, my exams took priority which combined with my slow reading speed meant i missed my goal by the time the film was released. I stuck at it though and once i battled my way through the 5th book it was smooth sailing to the point i finished the series today.

I have to say, i'm thoroughly impressed by them all. The way all of the stories connect together right down to items and spells mentioned in passing in the first book just amazes me. I'm glad i've made it through as i can see what i've missed out by only watching the films beforehand.

My aim now is to try and catch the final film in the cinema again over the next couple of days.(I managed to watch it the day after - it was just as epic as the book imo). I've been watching each film having read the corresponding book and its been an interesting experience so i'd like to continue it for the last part. It feels slightly odd that for me the series has now ended. In a way i was keeping it ongoing by postponing reading the final books, but all good things must come to and end.

I do however want to find another set of books to read. i've quite enjoyed taking time offline to dive into another world.



Some of you have also noticed that my gallery submissions have dwindled recently coming nearly to a complete stop. I've been finding it harder and harder to focus on emotes and rarely experience enjoyment by randomly playing with pixels. I feel i've kind of hit a duel rut - stopped both by my lack of imagination and my lack of improving skill. I'm not sure if this is the end of emotes for me, but if it is then i leave with my head held high. If it is not, i am sure i will walk back into welcome arms. I am by no means leaving the site or the community for that matters, simply taking a back seat ride for an undetermined amount of time.

With that, i am equally questioning the future of my news article. Whilst i started out the summer strong and with great commitment, my interest has shrank as the weeks go by. For an article like that to survive the writer must speak with passion and at present that is something i feel i lack. I have a harder time picking out emotes, staying on top of news and keeping to with the developments in the community. So although i don't want to declare the end of the series, i want to give a warning as to why it may not appear in the future.



Well its now my last week of the holidays before my third and final year at uni. To tell the truth i'm a tad nervous since the end is so close, but i'm sure all will go fine if i pout the time effort and energy in.

I can't say i'm particularly enjoying the change in seasons. I always prefer warmer weather and i need to go and see my landlord about getting the heating turned on.

I haven't had any new Rubik's cubes recently, but i aim to use some of the money i earned last week to buy one or 2 more. 2 new cubes ordered

I went to donate blood last week and completed my 6th donation

I can't say i really have a favourite. Boring answer i know, but its true

Again i don't really have a top favourite - it varies from time to time and mood to mood. My current most used one is probably

3. What do you think of the MLP fandom?
I presume MLP is My Little Pony? Tbh, i don't have an opinion as although i have hear people saying its epic i've never seen it or been heavily involved in a conversation on the topic.

4. If you could be the CEO dA for a day, what would be your first order of business?
Scrap the llama system.

5. What country do you live in?
England.

6. How did you discover dA?
My friend/relative ~Malpercio came to stay with my family for Xmas 2005. At first i thought the site was stupid, but over time i realised its full potential.

7. How old are you?
20. Technically 20 years, 9 months and 12 days if you want to be precise.

8. Look to your left, what do you see?
My bed, my cross stitch i'm working on and my ring of emotes

9. How long have you been on dA?
5 and a half years

10. What's your main operating system?
Windows 7 tThough you wouldn't really think it if you saw it. I have the interface basically set up like Vista with no pinned icons, a quicklaunch section and all programs set as backwards compatible to work like they are in vista/XP. The only thing from Win7 i really use is the snapping windows.
