Give us a YAY
At the beginning of April I launched an official emoticon contest known as Give us a YAY. Deviants were challenged to make a YAY themed emoticon and after a month, the contest has now been closed and the entries judged.
Over the 4 weeks, the contest received 96 individual entries. This was an amazing number and made judging them a rather difficult task, however the votes are now I and winners can be announced. The results were very close at the end, so congratulations to everyone that took part.
As the contest was open to all deviants, the entries were split into 2 categories to give people from outside the main emoticon community a chance over the long term emoticonists. You can view all deviations submitted to the contest in the official gallery and how the deviation entries were split in this journal.
And now for the results
Congratulations to everyone that came within the top 3 of their category. The list of prizes can be found in this news article. I will be contacting all the prize donators very soon to let them know the winners have been announced.
A massive thank you to everyone that has made this possible. A special thanks to all the prize donators and to the judges, as this contest wouldnt have been possible without their contributions.
I will now leave you with a few of my favourite entries that missed out on the top spots. I encourage you all to take a browse through the final entries, and I look forward to running more emoticon contests in the future
