The contest

I seem to like launching emoticon contests which are a step away from the norm, and i’m here to announce yet another.

The Creative Colours Contest is an emoticon contest, with a twist. The challenge is to make an emoticon  using only the colours in this deviation:

The Rules

As with any contest, there are a set of rules:

• The deviation must contain at least one pixel emoticon (no vectormotes, paintmotes, papermotes etc)
• The emoticon must only use the colours provided. You do not have to use all of the colours, but you cannot use additional ones.
• The entry must be 100% your own work
• The emoticon can be static or animated
• The emoticon must be saved as a .gif or .png
• You can enter a total of 3 deviations
• The deviation must be new as of 1st September 2010
• The contest closes on 30th September 2010 @ 11.59pm UK time

How to submit

To submit a deviation to the contest, follow these instructions:

• Submit the deviation to your deviantART gallery
• Within the artist comments please mention it is for the creative colours contest
• Note `Synfull with a thumb/link to the piece

Notes

The contest will be judged on a number of aspects. Therefore please don’t worry if the shading of features/emotes isn’t 100% perfect due to the restricted colours. But take the opportunity to think outside the box and be creative with the colours provided.

Please also be aware that using gradients may use colours outside of the colour swatch. For those who are unfamiliar hand shading and wish to give it a go, there are some great tutorials at #Emotication
